So here’s part one of my National Aviation Day post. Part two will include a bunch of pictures from deployment. Have some helicopters!
So in honor of National Aviation Day I thought I’d post some of my pictures I’ve taken of aircraft during my Army career. These pictures predominantly are from Summer 2014 through today. Later today I’ll lost pictures from when I was deployed in Afghanistan.

I LOOOOOOOVE Chinoooks!
I grew up in a neighbourhood that bumped up against the army training facility, heard chinooks pretty much daily, the distinctive sound instantly makes me a giddly little kid.

It's an awesome bird to work on. Once engines are running it sounds awesome, but the APU is ear piercing when it's on

Story: A good friend of mine was a CH-47 mechanic in the Army. He took me to see a Chinook once a few years ago and while he was chatting with the crew chief, I walked up the cargo ramp and almost slipped on the oily floor. I turned around and said “Hey, this things leaking oil!” They looked at eachother and laughed, then the chief said “That’s how you know it ain’t broken! When it quits leaking, you have a problem!”
